Industry bodies have repeatedly pointed to fragmented supply chains and lack of real-time information as factors that push up operating expenses and delay deliveries. The new data-sharing arrangement attempts to address this gap.
How the data integration will work
The partnership centres on API-based integration, a technical method that allows different software systems to share information automatically without manual data entry. Under this arrangement, the MSME Ministry’s systems will connect directly to NLDS databases, enabling authorised users to pull logistics information as needed.
NLDS operates under the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), which oversees technology-enabled reforms in logistics infrastructure. The organisation collects data from industrial corridors, freight terminals and logistics parks across the country.
Anuja Bapat, Deputy Director General at the Office of the Development Commissioner (MSME), signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry. Arvind Devaraj, Chief Operating Officer of NLDS, signed for the data services organisation. Senior officials from both bodies were present at the signing ceremony.

The Ministry stated that the partnership will provide MSMEs with comprehensive logistics insights.
