ITDC managing director Mugdha Sinha, said cyber security must become integral to the professional culture of public institutions as digital technologies increasingly underpin governance and service delivery.
“Cyber security is a shared responsibility, requiring awareness, vigilance and collective commitment from every individual,” Sinha said. “Through initiatives like these, ITDC is committed to building a cyber-aware and digitally resilient workforce that contributes to this national vision.”
Cyber security training
The workshop was conducted by Amit Dubey, a cyber security expert and cyber crime investigator who has authored books and web series on digital investigations. Dubey, an IIT alumnus, covered emerging cyber threats, cyber hygiene, data protection, fraud prevention and strategies for building organisational cyber resilience. Cyber hygiene refers to the routine practices and precautions users take to keep their data safe and systems secure.
“In today’s interconnected digital ecosystem, security is a shared responsibility,” Dubey said. “Technology alone cannot secure organisations; every individual plays a vital role in strengthening cyber resilience through informed and responsible digital behaviour.”
The session used real-time case studies and practical scenarios to demonstrate compliance requirements and safe digital practices. Participants, including ITDC directors, division heads and other employees, were introduced to tools and techniques for defending against evolving cyber threats.
Dubey emphasised that building a culture of awareness, vigilance and accountability ranks among the most important security metrics for any institution. Programmes of this kind, he said, empower employees to serve as the first line of defence against cyber attacks.

ITDC’s digital push
ITDC is a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism. Incorporated in 1966, the corporation’s mandate covers developing and enhancing India’s tourism infrastructure while delivering hospitality services.
Beyond operating hotels, ITDC has diversified into ticketing, tours and travels, event management, duty-free shopping, hospitality education and skill development, publicity and printing consultancy, and sound and light shows.
