Edmond Wong has been appointed President of Orange for the Asia-Pacific region, succeeding Nick Lambert will retire at the end of April 2025. The leadership change at the enterprise technology services arm of French telecommunications group Orange SA takes effect as the company seeks to expand its corporate networking and cloud services across Asian markets including India.

Wong, currently based in Singapore, has served as Head of Business Management for Asia-Pacific at Orange Business since June 2020. He will now oversee operations spanning multiple markets including India, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, China and Australia.

Lambert exits after seven-year tenure

Lambert has led the Asia-Pacific region since 2019. During his tenure, the company expanded its enterprise services offerings across the region, though specific figures were not disclosed in the announcement.

Orange Business provides corporate networking, cloud computing and cybersecurity services to multinational companies and large enterprises. The company operates in India through its subsidiary, serving businesses that require managed connectivity and digital workplace solutions.

“I’m deeply grateful to the Orange Business management team for their trust and faith in me to lead the APAC region,” Wong said in a statement. “Over the next few months, I look forward to immersing into the different APAC market’s challenges and needs, meeting customers and collaborating with partners.”

Wong has 15 years of experience in business leadership roles at large technology organisations. He has worked across several Asian markets including Singapore, Melbourne, Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing, according to the company.

Prior to his business management role, Wong worked on sales and marketing programmes and regional strategy for different parts of the Asia-Pacific region at Orange Business.

“I wish to sincerely thank Nick for his guidance, support and valuable advice to me from his time as the President of APAC until this transition period before his retirement,” Wong added. “We share a special bond, and I hope to continue his work legacy and build on from his outstanding achievements.”

Orange Business in the Indian market

Orange Business serves enterprise clients in India with services including software-defined wide area networks, which allow companies to manage their office connectivity through software rather than physical equipment. The company also provides cloud connectivity and cybersecurity services to businesses operating across multiple locations.
