- F5 focuses on AI-ready application security in India growth push
Dhananjay Ganjoo has returned to F5 as country manager for India and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region, two years after leaving the US-listed application security company. F5 announced the appointment at AppWorld Mumbai, its customer and partner conference for application delivery and hybrid-cloud security.
F5 provides software and hardware that helps companies deliver applications securely across data centres and cloud environments. The company’s products manage network traffic, protect against cyber attacks and ensure applications perform reliably at scale.
Ganjoo will lead F5’s regional growth strategy, customer and partner relationships and the company’s push into AI-ready application security. India and SAARC represent one of F5’s fastest-growing geographies.
Two-year gap at Akshaya Patra Foundation
Ganjoo previously ran F5’s India and SAARC business as managing director from June 2020. F5 described his departure on 3 May 2024 as a retirement, though he moved directly into a full-time executive role at The Akshaya Patra Foundation. There, he served as chief resource mobilisation and marketing officer, leading fund-raising and brand advocacy for PM POSHAN, the central government’s school meal programme formerly known as the Mid-Day Meal scheme.
He had originally joined F5 in 2018 to build the company’s global system integrators practice. He was elevated to head the regional business after Edgar Dias moved to a wider Asia Pacific channel role.
Ganjoo succeeds Pratik Shah, who took over the India and SAARC role in May 2024 and built out the regional business through F5’s pivot to software, software-as-a-service and AI-led security.
F5 sees India as growth engine
“India and SAARC are at a critical inflection point in their digital evolution,” Ganjoo said in a statement. “It is a privilege to return to F5 at a time when our mission to deliver secure, AI-ready applications has never been more relevant.”
Adam Judd, F5’s senior vice president of sales for Asia Pacific, China and Japan, said the region “remains a massive engine for our global strategy” and that Ganjoo’s cross-industry experience and ecosystem relationships would help the local team scale further.
