Das, an alumnus of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, and the International Centre for Promotion of Enterprises at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, has held several senior positions across the defence establishment.

His prior roles include Director in the Ministry of Water Resources, Additional Financial Adviser and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Principal Integrated Financial Adviser at Army Headquarters, and Special Controller General of Defence Accounts at CGDA Headquarters.
