Reports suggest both devices could launch on 7 May, with sales for the X300 Ultra beginning on 14 May. Vivo has not confirmed these dates.

Why the Ultra series matters for Indian buyers

The X300 Ultra represents Vivo’s most ambitious smartphone camera system to date. It houses a 200-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, a lens design that uses mirrors to fold light and achieve optical zoom without a protruding camera bump, offering 3.7x optical magnification.

The device also supports optional add-on teleconverter lenses, accessories that attach to the phone to extend zoom range, offering up to 200mm and 400mm focal lengths with Zeiss optics. This makes it one of the few smartphones to offer modular camera expansion.

Beyond the camera system, the X300 Ultra runs on the 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, Qualcomm’s flagship processor built on a 3-nanometre manufacturing process. The device carries a 6600mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging and 40W charging support.

The 6.82-inch display uses LTPO AMOLED technology at 1440 x 3168 pixel resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone weighs 232 grams or 237 grams depending on the variant and measures 8.2mm in thickness.

In , the X300 Ultra is priced starting at CNY 6,999, which translates to approximately ₹95,700. Indian pricing has not been announced, but the device is expected to be positioned above ₹1 lakh given its premium specifications and the pricing of the existing X300 Pro in India.

X300 FE brings teleconverter support to compact flagship

The Vivo X300 FE targets buyers who want flagship performance in a smaller form factor. The company’s teaser confirmed the device will support a teleconverter, making it the first compact flagship from Vivo to offer this camera accessory option.

The X300 FE features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display at 1.5K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and carries a 6500mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.

The camera system comprises a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, all featuring Zeiss optics.

Vivo’s teaser image showed the X300 FE in a green colour variant. According to earlier reports, the Indian market will receive Black, Purple and Green options, with the green finish being exclusive to India. The device is also available in Moonlight White, Cool Purple and Graphite Black in other markets.

Vivo’s ultra-premium push in India

The dual launch signals Vivo’s intention to compete more aggressively in India’s ultra-premium smartphone segment, a space currently dominated by Apple, Samsung and OnePlus. By bringing the Ultra series to India for the first time, the company is targeting buyers willing to spend above ₹1 lakh on a smartphone.

The X300 FE, meanwhile, competes with devices like the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R in the sub-flagship category, offering flagship-level specifications in a more compact design.

Vivo has not announced official Indian pricing for either device. The company is expected to reveal launch dates and pricing in the coming weeks.
